Our current project is dedicated to the service and sacrifice of Sergeant Thomas Edward Vandling, Jr. A Pittsburgh native and sergeant in the Army Reserve, Tommy gave his life for his country on New Year’s Day 2007, during his second deployment to Iraq. Known as a “model soldier” and “one of those guys who [would] do anything for you,” Tommy was an inspiration to those he served with. OVArts is honored that the men and women of Tommy’s unit chose us to help them capture his legacy in our first major public artwork.

Join OVArts in committing to make the Sergeant Tommy Vandling project a success. You can contribute directly to the project below. All donations made here go directly to the Sergeant Tommy Vandling project.
