TEAM APPROVES SITE FOR THE SGT TOMMY VANDLING PROJECT

Current and former members of the 303rd PSYOP Company, many of whom served with Sergeant Tommy Vandling, met at the McGarity Reserve Center to discuss their vision for the project, and inspect the proposed site of the new public artwork.

Project initiator, 303rd PSYOP Co veteran and OVArts Board of Directors member, Richard Amos Behana joined OVArts cofounder Allyson Holtz to lead core team members in a brainstorming session. Project landscape architect and veteran Christina Sarson helped the team complete a detailed site survey, which will help determine the extent of demolition and site preparation required.

Most importantly, the team was able to get an impression of how well this site will serve their mission of honoring Tommy and making his story an inspiration to all. With the new PX and Commissary nearby, there will be plenty of opportunity for the project to reach people who never had the opportunity of knowing Tommy personally.
